Biography

Nicole is a Partner in PwC Asia’s M&A Advisory practice focusing on consumer goods, E-commerce & media sectors. Nicole has a total of 13 years of professional service experience, including 3 years of auditing experience and more than 9 years of experience in M&A advisory services covering both buy-side and sell-side cycles. Nicole has extensive experience in deal origination, transaction strategy formulation and deal negotiation. With great enthusiasm in the consumer goods sector, Nicole initiated “Brand Power Program” within PwC China, focusing on helping these high potential scale-ups to improve brand power and corporate efficiency by providing comprehensive improvement consulting services.

Selected experience from Nicole includes:

Launched “Brand Power Program” in 2021 which is currently empowering many consumer brands. Below are some examples under different sub programs:

Classic Brand Refreshment Program: advised a classic Chinese jewellery brand on their trial to expand new media channels and sync them with the latest marketing models and tactics by introducing service providers, such as MCN, pop-up stores, etc. (Refer to Brand Power Program Deck for mor details)

Foreign Brand Pilot Program: assisted a Singaporean food brand to understand China market and develop distribution channels

Emerging Brand Icon Program: lead multiple PwC teams and leveraging PwC's industry resources to empower a top Chinese underwear brands from dimensions of enterprise, capital, and brand.  The service provided covers the following:

Corporate level: discovered problems and improvement potentials from the perspectives of finance, taxation, organizational structure, operation and supply chain, digitalization, competitiveness, etc.;

Financing level: provided a full spectrum of financing services; advised in acquisition of a designer brand to build multi-brand matrix, and assisted in JV structure with supply chain manufactures, etc.;

Brand level: Channel-wise, introduced brands to e-commerce distributors and commercial real estate resources; in terms of media, connected brands with fashion media and KOLs to amplify brand exposure; as of marketing, successfully established multi-platform capabilities via cooperation with MCN and DP; Nominated leading brands via connection to government bureaus like Shanghai Municipal Commission of Commerce.

Cooperated with Shanghai Municipal Commission of Commerce to advise and incubate local emerging brands.

Co-authored “The Nation of Youth 2021 Cultural and Business Insights Report” with SuperELLE focusing on the latest consumer trend among Gen-Z.

Nicole is native Chinese and speaks fluent English. Nicole graduated from Shanghai University of Finance and Economics
